Zarathustra

This week I've been working on and with Zarathustra. I realized that according to his teachings, the Man is a transition form between the highest form of being and an animal. The future is predestined; everything what happens did, is and will be happening forever. According to ancient historians Zarathustra spend most of his life in ascendance following harsh vows, rejecting the significance of his body and all physical forms of existence. According to him, neglection of the world of things moves you to the world of ideas (maybe that the analogy of paradise to him). I am still processing his readings.

Cicero

“Cicero’s letters to his friends” was a challenge. Cicero is one of a skeptical person; it is really hard to keep up with his thoughts; he has a very weird pattern of jumping from one topic to another. Main source of his inspiration is depression or disappointment; it’s transferred onto his views. Utopian world, according to Cicero, is the world without passions. Passion is a destructive force. In brief, Cicero was a Jedi. So... Going back to my initial topic: Cicero represents "stoic" brunch of philosophy, he was a famous orator and thinker. His ideas are very powerful even though he tends to like demagogy too much, but this is just my humble opinion. He talks and thinks about physical pain vs. emotional suffering, death and depression. Despite the fact that his writing came from spleen and blue mood, they are very exciting and thought-appealing.

Confucius

That was the first serious reading I have done for the past three years. Ideally I should have posted long time ago, but due to some difficulties and immense laziness you are now forced to read outdated article. Confucius's quotes are hard to apply or to use in everyday situation. I have had difficulties relating his writings to me because most of them are more of political importance. He writes and thinks about the role of the humanity in governmental field and rarely talks about human beings. He has a solid view on religion, but prefers to adress to it as something less important that for example etiquette. I got to know what is Yin and Yang and what is stability and action. Confucius has influenced me as much as he did Chinese culture.
